Ok so this season I got 16 coon, 11 muskrats, 4 possum, 1 big ole fox squirrel, 1 beaver, 1 red fox, 1 grey fox, and 1 mink

Not to shabby. I really enjoyed trapping when I was younger. Now the laws with the no leg or body gripping traps it just isn't worth it to me to go take the trapping test they require now. Everything has to be cage trapped now.

Only tried trapping once, buddy of mine in high school thought there were some coons on a creek, we set one trap and got up early before school everyday for a week. Day 7 we caught a skunk....shot him and left the trap for a few days to let the air clear. Never tried again.
Sounds like you had a good season.

I've got several cage traps of different design. But mainly use them now for trapping polecats around the neighborhood. Here I'm teaching a couple to swim underwater.  They failed the holding your breath test. ;D  I used to shoot them but they spray when you do that so drowning them is much more pleasant to your nose.   |

Taking the month of November would be great, but just as last year, will probably just get weekends and early mornings and late nights. Love it though.

15 coons 10 yotes all shot not trapped 15 beaver 1 fox 2 grinners 16 rats it was a great season for me.

1beaver is all I was able to get this year. The season for most furbearers was closed by the time I got back. The year before was awesome though.  |

This season was really tough here. Numbers down a lot.. Even after letting the ranches rest for two years while we were in Texas. Hopefully next year will be a lot better. After catching the mountain lion, I guess ranchers are concerned because we gained three ranches already that said no last year.
